Favourite movie as a kid

Synopsis
Fleeing the evil Galactic Empire, the rebels abandon their new base on Hoth. Princess Leia, Han Solo and the droid C-3P0 escape in the damaged Millenium Falcon, but are later captured by Lord Darth Vader on Bespin. Skywalker and the droid R2-D2, meanwhile, follows Ben Kenobi’s posthumous command and receives Jedi training by Yoda on Dagobah. Will Skywalker manage to rescue his friends from the dark lord?

Why this was my favourite film as a kid?
The force is strong, especially as a kid.  Not that I have changed much, sword battles and aircraft attacks still rank very high for enjoyment.

A film I quote from

A film I quote from

Synopsis
Part IV in a George Lucas epic, Star Wars: A New Hope opens with a rebel ship being boarded by the tyrannical Darth Vader. The plot then follows the life of a simple farmboy, Luke Skywalker, as he and his newly met allies (Han Solo, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, C-3PO, R2-D2) attempt to rescue a rebel leader, Princess Leia, from the clutches of the Empire. The conclusion is culminated as the Rebels, including Skywalker make an attack on the Empires most powerful and ominous weapon, the Death Star.

My favourite quotes from this movie?

  • “Let the Wookiee Win!” – C3P0

  • “We’re doomed”- C3P0

  • “Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper?” – Princess Leia

  • “As you wish” – Darth Vader

  • “We seem to be made to suffer. It’s our lot in life.”- C3P0

A film that reminds me of somewhere

A film that reminds me of somewhere

Synopsis
Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, R2-D2 and C3P0 infiltrate Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine intent on the rescue of loveable rogue Han Solo. After a successful rescue the group set about the task of destroying a newly constructed Death Star that is not yet operational … or so they thought. The usual Star Wars shenanigans occur with fights galore and Luke finally confronts his father to bring him back to the Light Side of the Force.

Where Does This Film Remind Of?
The Hilton WA drive-in theatre is where this film reminds me of. I think we were in a Holden Belmont wagon watching this when I was 8. The drive-in is sadly long since demolished, but good memories.
Whilst I personally see this as the weakest film of the original trilogy it is a fitting end.
